Smart Home Security Systems

A few additional smart devices will help prevent or detect a fire in your home, while minimizing even more serious damage. While traditional smoke detectors are designed to alert people in the home to a fire, smart home devices instantly send alerts to your mobile device and to the fire department.

Smart Smoke Detectors

Unlike conventional smoke detectors, smart smoke detectors send you alarm notifications to your smartphone. They can also be connected to your home security system and monitored by a central station. When the detectors detect the presence of smoke particles in the air, they turn off your air conditioning systems to prevent the spread of smoke while people are safely evacuated from the house. Some systems turn on the lights and give voice instructions on what to do in the event of a fire.

You can integrate the camera with your smart smoke detector so that you can record events and be able to locate the source of the fire. In addition, all models have the ability to detect carbon monoxide (CO).

Smart fire detectors

If false alarms of smoke detectors occur frequently, a heat detector is another way to detect a fire.

There are two types of heat detectors:

Simple, fixed-temperature detectors that operate at a factory-set temperature.
Detectors that respond to the rate of temperature increase, which give a signal when a rapid increase in temperature is detected.

Many heat detectors have both built-in functions.

Keep in mind that heat detectors are generally not intended to replace smoke detectors in bedrooms or other places where a fire safety device is required.

All systems are interconnected, so if the detector goes off in one part of your property, all alarms will go off.

Smart sockets

Smart sockets, a great way to avoid internal anxiety if you forget to turn off the coffee pot or iron before leaving the house. With the app on your smartphone, you can turn on and off lights and small appliances. Some models automatically turn off the power to your appliances when they are not needed.

Motion sensors

You can detect movement anywhere in the house using sensors controlled by a smartphone. Home motion indicators detect your presence when you enter or leave your home. You can install these sensors on doors and windows for optimal security. By activating them, you will receive alerts about any movement detected by the system. This way, you will be aware of any hacking attempt, wherever you are.

As with all smart devices, it is recommended that you consult a Smart Home installation specialist to install them correctly.
